Boating in Dunedin, March 10, 2018

IMG_0092 The tide is super high right now. Should be a decent outgoing. Who knows what will happen. The weather is nice; the water is warming, the breeze is cool, the wildlife are already letting me know they’re here. A couple big great blue heron just buzzed my boat feet away in flight. I’m gonna have to find some protection with the stiff breeze on this flat bottom boat. If nothing else this will be to run the motor so I know it works on days that get planned. If nothing else I’ll drop more iphone pics later.
Hooked a big redfish today. The timing was off, but the results were fantastic. Video and info coming soon. Putting away the boat now. Check back to see how it all went down.

Don’t Go – 12/16/18 – 10:30am

“You’ve seen the beauty,” said a volunteer for the park today walking along the beach. We stopped to chat discussing education, american government, environment, and wildlife. He reminded me of all the beautiful sights found along the coast, the beautuful stumps of the mangrove trees rising from the water, the bald eagles and their young nesting on the island, and the many plant species growing here. Being reminded of this brings back memories of the hard work people have done to capture the beauty in photography and art, and how those types of media are becoming less often seen. There really are many beautiful things to see and photograph or paint along the water.

There’s more fun to be had today. It looks better than yesterday. It may just be because I brought the longboard today. It’s easily as good as this time yesterday. Come on out. Catch a few good waves. The downside is that there’s a long wait between sets (yes there’s sets), and it’s really cold.

In case you haven’t already heard, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission has closed two of the biggest recreational fishes in the state, snook and redfish. This closure is impacting most of the west coast of Florida, and the closure was extended until May 10th.

What I want to know is, who put these idiots Continue reading Red Tide Snook and Redfish Closure until May 10th, 2019
