Sand Key Surf in February


The cold temperature of the water limited the session length for many people. What happens when your body’s core temperature drops is your body will prepare for a potentially fatal situation.  It will allocate it’s resources to mantain life for as long as possible. Sunday had exceptional weather conditions.  The light offshore winds and blue skies conditions from yesterday are the exception to the rule.  Much more frequent, waves arrive at the beach accompanied by onshore winds.  The onshore winds can have varied effects on the surf.  The washing machine conditions are the most well known.
