After a very, very long lull in real surf something significant is showing up on the map. The latest model run is showing an especially strong cold front dropping into the gulf on Saturday. The winds look to go offshore on Sunday, actually happening sometime overnight between Saturday and Sunday. 30p knot winds on the model mean this front should be just about one of the strongest cold fronts we get. If cold fronts were categorized like hurricanes on a saffir-Simpson scale this would be right around a 4 as it looks right now. Hopefully this pans out and we get a nice cool-down while at the same time getting slabs rolling into your local beach. It’s finally time to get back in the water.

10/14/2021 Forecast: Cold Front This Weekend
It looks like there’s going to be a wave this weekend or Monday. The front seems to bring north northwest winds into the gulf on Sunday. The runs have been showing this front mostly as a northeast wind maker. Today it looks more like a wave producer.
A Little Cold Front Blowing In 10-8-2021
The cold front machine is starting to turn on. You can expect cold fronts that produce surf to start making their way down to the gulf soon! Unfortunately, this one’s not a wave producer.

Nor’Easter
There’s a big nor’easter that’s going to be chaning our pattern into a cold front like pattern on Thursday. West Southwest winds on Wednesday evening will turn into Northwest winds on Thursday. It will be enough to bring up fun waist to chest high surf on Thursday. Thursday evening looks like a shift with more northerly winds. See you out there.
