The gulf is sliding into a pattern of southeast winds. The surf stays flat for the foreseeable future.

Surf Outlook: Mon, Aug 8 – Wed, Aug. 10
Surf’s up next week. Waist high waves arrive on what looks like noon on Monday. The waves remain about waist high through Wednesday evening. The swell is mostly a west southwest swell. There will be a brisk southwest wind (15mph) through the swell event. You may have to dodge a squall or two, because scattered thunderstorms are in the forecast, as is usual for this time of year. My guess is, it will be mostly sunny with squally weather likely. The sunrise is around 7am, and the sunset is around 8:15.
Tropical Storm Earl: Wed, 08.03.2016
Circulation 97-L was upgraded to a tropical storm on Tuesday morning after the Hurricane Hunter air-craft generated proof of sustained winds at tropical storm strength.
Tropical Storm Earl is currently headed for Central America with a pressure in the center of the storm at 991 millibars. Earl may strengthen into a hurricane before he makes landfall.
