Flatness, Flatness, and More Flatness: Yep it’s summer.

Just as quick as the tropical wave moving across the African peninsulla and into the Atlantic built, so did it dissipated back into near nothingness. Still, the wave may be worth keeping an eye on.   Enthusiasm with the hurricane season is met with a bleak outlook looking to the near future.  Our chances to surf the gulf remains at a minimum.  Another swash of southeast winds are going to move up into the southern gulf next week.  Nothing but offshores and light winds are sure to persist.

Skim’s Up: Friday, July 1st, 2016

There’s a bit of skim rolling onto the beaches this morning from the air mass moving over the northern gulf.  The buoy is trending upward.  The winds will be light onshore all day.  The southwest winds will continue through the week, but the skim is only around for the next day or two. The high tide just occurred.  The low tide is around 5pm.
