Honeymoon Island was a playground today. There were at least 6 different wave types along the short strech of beach. The west southwest swell direction was perfect.
It seems that some of the rocks have drifted down the beach, if that’s even possible. There are boulder sized rocks in between the existing jetty and the new jetty, a place where no rocks were planned to go. They seemed to be helping the surf, because one of the waves was breaking right in front of the submerged rocks.
Moving this box tortoise from the roadway of the busy entrance to the park undoubtedly averted disaster.
It was a spectacular day of surfing.
