Well, that low that started out as a cold front, then transitioned into a stalled front has now become Tropical Storm Emily. With a well defined center of circulation, and winds of at least 30 miles per hour advisories were issued at about 6am on Emily from Anclote River to Bonita Beach. Conditions are favorable for further development, and the storm could strengthen while it slowly travels eastward at 8mph. Once the storm moves over the state it will encounter west wind shear which will prevent any further development. The primary threat is with locally heavy rainfall. The GFS weather model is thought to be aligned with the current forecast track for this storm. It has the swell peaking around noon, then dissipating by evening.
