Honeymoon Island Beach Renourishment of November 2019

Honeymoon Island State Park is one of the most visited state parks in all of Florida. It generates more revenue than any other Florida state park on the beach. On any given weekend in the Spring and Summer you’ll find the beaches packed shoulder to shoulder with people basking in the warm air, playing in the water, and fishing. It’s a place that impacts many people’s lives through the enjoyment they derive from the activities surrounding this little piece of land.

Hurricane Season Is Getting Underway

Run after run something is showing up on the 7 day model that is likely to kick off our hurricane season.  Early season is typically a good time to see a tropical storm or at most a category 1 hurricane come into the gulf, and give the gulf surf.   It’s one of the most predictable times when we can expect a small tropical system to grace our waters. As we get closer, the surf forecast will become clearer. The official start of hurricane season is in 1 week, June 1st, right when this storm is expected to take shape.
