A Samoan family opened up their hearts and the door to their home to guests.
They spent an afternoon traditionally cooking delicious food. One of the main pieces of this dinner feast was the pig. The pig was prepared with seasonings and cooked over hot coals. The pit of coals was organized into a rectangular shape. The outer edges of this pit were bordered with larger stones. The other delicacies were cooked over hot stones. This cooking style allowed an unadulterated end result of these foods. They were then topped with additional garnishment and flavoring. The food was one of the highlights of this luau.
