With the water temperature hovering right around 52 degrees and air in the low 50s, the middle of the day, the time when it was warmest, was the time to surf. Compared to a lot of the country it was another beautiful day in paradise in west Florida. The low that produced this surf started out in the Gulf of Mexico. It crossed over the southern part of the state and emerged into the Atlantic. After entering the Atlantic it traveled along the east coast until smashing into the northeast. Areas like Maine were pummeled by this winter nor’easter blizzard.
