The World Surf League’s 2017 season is underway. This year, as in years past, the season starts with its Australia leg, beginning with the Quiksilver sponsored Snapper event. The Oz events to start the season off are Snapper Rocks first, won by Owen Wright this year, then Margaret River (a recent addition to the tour), won by John Florence, and finally, Bells Beach, which is yet to be determined. The Bells event is currently on stand-by. The waiting period is from the 12th through the 24th of April. After the Australian leg, the boys head to venues in Brazil, Fiji, South Africa, Tahiti, California, France, Portugal, and lastly Hawaii. This should be another interesting season packed with big airs and deep barrels.

Tatiana Weston-Webb
At the present moment there are only 19 women in the world who qualify to compete on the women’s CT, the most prestigious women’s surfing tour in the world. Tatiana Weston-Webb is a 20 year old from the Island of Kauai in Hawaii. Now in her second year on the CT, she is currently ranked 4th after the first two events of the season. She placed 5th at Snapper, and 3rd at Bells. This is one girl to keep your eye on. A world tour title may not be too far down the road for this lovely lady.
