Fall Evening Skimboarding
Mild cold fronts and the baking sun of late fall keep the temperatures in west central Florida comfortable for water activities during a time of the year when other parts of the country are experiencing frigid temperatures and occasional snow storms. Waves crashing onto shore, then washing up onto the beach, creates a warm, thin layer of water ideal for flatland skimboarding. Blue Skies and Northeast Wind in Early Fall
The swell was holding all morning through the outgoing tide on this early season cleanup. The bouys maintained a solid 5 foot at 7 seconds through mid-day, and into the afternoon. The swell was filling in from a west northwest direction. The swell was really fun, unusually fun for this early in the season. We may be in store for a decent season.
