This is Mine (updated 7:30pm)

Well, believe it or not, the surf’s up again. These pictures were taken on the mid-outgoing. The air is comfortable right now with the moderate south breeze. The water is comfortable, too. As the tide drops out even further there is a chance the surf could get bigger and better.

Not Going to Happen


5pm On Mother’s Day:
“That crack smoking GFS” as Micah of Aura surf has said. You might think model runs would be able to nail it down, but it’s almost always wrong. Anyone with any common sense would tell you that teeny tiny, super close to the coast low pressure systems don’t do much. If you absolutely love surfing sloppy super tiny, pretty much nonexistent wind ruffle be my guest.  To be honest, it’s not really my thing. It was wrong to have even suggested the surf might get good.

This almost looks better than Kelly’s wave. The unpredictability of natural waves is really one of surfing’s best attributes. Along with showcasing perfect waves this video makes it look as if there’s some unpredictability in the wave. The best surfers have the ability to read challenging waves, and without unpredictable waves surfing wouldn’t be the same.
