Around mid-day the surf was fun. High tide peaked and swell continued to pump into the beaches. The conditions became a bit trickier as the tide began to draw out, but wonkyness can be overcome by consistently choosing the ones that line up along the sandbar. The high tide and the following hours were the warmest portion of this cold day. Overall, fun surf continued to pulse throughout the day, and into the evening. Surf for Days
In a completely uncrowded lineup Derek was going to town on lefts and the rights. We chilled on the beach and just watched as wave after wave lined up along the sandbar with no takers.
Surfing: Better than Sex
On this breezy January day the surf was pumping into the beach around 5 feet at 8 seconds from the west. So far this month we have had a quickly cooling weather patter, but on this day, and for this time of year, the weather was mild until the afternoon when the temperatures took a quick dive. The breeze was moderate and the water was reasonably warm. The green water waves were lining up quite well and the rides were incredible. What a day. Gallery Below.
