Surprise Swell June 2018, 11:30am & 3:30pm

Snook were stacked up on the beach today. With the clearer than usual water the fishies were happy campers, able to see and breathe. On many rides they were seen cruising around. It was a mid-ougoing tide and the fish were sitting stacked up on the small rockpiles situated in between the two jetties. They were corralled into the pockets of rock sitting on the sandy spots. Others were along the inside edge of the sand bar. Most of them were way undersize, somewhere between a foot and a foot and a half long 12-18 inches. It would have been a great day to catch a bunch of way undersize snook.

Professional Surfer’s Take The Ocean to Battle For The Longest Ride

A group of surfers, some of the best in the world in fact, met up for an event held by the long time surfboard company McTavish surfboards. Riding classic styled boards they were battling for the longest rides; they were trying to find the waves that lined up from way on the outside of the sandbar, the ones that could be ridden all the way to the beach. Some of the surfers were seen riding right up onto the sand, not unusual for the stoked out longboarder who rides the waves from the very peak until they can be ridden no more. The longest ride contest hosted by the McTavish surfboard company was a success.

Sharing is Caring: A Tropical Low Pressure Surf Video

It was mostly sunny after around 11am. By mid-day the winds were pretty much completely offshore. The lineup was crowded, but that’s just what you can expect this time of year on a sunny day. A lot of people were out having fun in the playful little surf. There were even a few snook to be had off the end of the jetty during the outgoing tide. A great day from the start when a nearly perfect rainbow formed to this afternoon glassy surf.
