Fall Evening Skimboarding

Mild cold fronts and the baking sun of late fall keep the temperatures in west central Florida comfortable for water activities during a time of the year when other parts of the country are experiencing frigid temperatures and occasional snow storms.  Waves crashing onto shore, then washing up onto the beach, creates a warm, thin layer of water ideal for flatland skimboarding.  Skimboarding is a fun beach activity during just about any time of year.  These guys were having a ball skimboarding at the park during a recent cold front. Surfing NSB During Shark Attack Month

Gorkin, Geiselman, and Groms were showing up and blowing up. They surely had to dodge a few shark fins while out there at the shark bite captial of the world, New Smyrna Beach, during the month with the highest rates of shark attacks. It is not a small difference. Every month other than September, there is only around one shark attack. September gets, on average, 7 more shark bites during this month, many of them coming from the shark bite capitol of the world. And yesterday, there were three shark attacks. Luckily, the little spinners and blacktips swimming in those waters only nip at people.
