River Surfing Boise Idaho

Along the Boise River, just next to Quinn’s Pond sits the Boise, Idaho River wave. Shaped by a design called the waveshaper, it uses the river’s energy to create an exceptional whitewater wave in the middle of the river.  It can be surfed in summer or winter, but your a little bit nutty if you’re out there in the winter. If you cruise over to the live camera you’ll probably spot a surfer or two catching a few.  You might even spot local Adam Winspear shredding.  The wave looks like a ton of fun.  Continue reading River Surfing Boise Idaho

New Jersey Surfing: Sam Hammer

Consistent winter swells from strong arctic energy can send some drainers to the outer banks and the northeast. The surf town of New Jersey gets some of the best of the swells, with sandbars forming consistent tubes and playful sections depending on which beach-break or jetty you surf. Sam Hammer is a legend on the east coast and surfs these tubes to a T. And although the water temperatures average far below any human can bare, wetsuit technologies make surfing in these conditions more fun than ever.
